Project Overview
Show to Tell is an informational website that can be used by hospitals, schools, or anyone who wants to incorporate art therapy into their lives. On the website it has an overview of what art therapy is as well as a few tutorials and activities to do that are very simple and easy for all ages. The goal is to help better environments such as a hospital setting or a school setting by using art as a form of therapy; for mainly children but of course other ages as well.
Collaboration
During this project I spoke with Nancy Sharp, a therapist, about what art therapy is and how it helps the soul to relieve stress, while speaking to her I learned a lot about why people choose art therapy over other techniques as well as where we can use art therapy in our everyday lives. I also reached out to some hospitals, such as Yale New Haven Hospital, Saint Marry's Hospital, and Griffin Hospital, to see what everyday environments are like. I also worked with my little cousins to see what they might like to do and see if art therapy could truly help children of young ages. I got feedback from peers, family, and friends throughout this process as well.
