My project, Transforming the Body, is about the process of me transforming my body, trying to bulk up, gain weight and muscles, as well as learning more about working out in general, proper diets, good workouts, and much more. My goal for this project is to gain weight as well as muscle, I want to increase my strength, how much I can lift, bench, and squat. To accomplish my goal I have created a workout schedule for the week, I also have a note document where I write down every workout for the day, how many sets, reps, and the amount of rest in between each set, helping me keep track of my progress and improvements throughout my journey.
Throughout my project, I have reached out to many others in the same boat as me, other students who were also working out, friends at my age who have been working out for years beforehand, and athletes who need to keep in shape for their sport. I asked questions about their schedules and what workouts they were doing for each muscle, what their favorite workout was or what is the best workout in their opinion. With this information, I did some additional research and added a few of their workouts to my own workout schedule. I also received a lot of advice, tips, and ideas, some were warnings about certain workouts and the proper way to workout without hurting myself. I have also used many online resources provided by professionals, some youtube channels run by trainers like Athlean-X, and websites like Nerdfitness.com run by 40+ certified coaches, strength training professionals, and researchers that provide entertaining, science-based information about the complex world of health and fitness.
