Project Overview
For my project, I wanted to combine something that I love and something that gives back to others. For the past 13+ years, I have fallen in love with the game of baseball. It has almost consumed my life outside of schoolwork. When initially coming up with an idea for my project I was curious as to how I can give back to the game I love. After some research, I saw that the game was slowly dying in younger generations. This inspired me to give something to younger children that not only teaches them the game of baseball but makes it fun and relatable in the form of a story with a children's book about a young boy's first baseball game, similar to the experience I've had myself.
Collaboration
I found that in my project, collaboration has been monumental, and crucial. So far I have of course collaborated with my parents who have been an easily accessible resource to review my work for feedback. Whenever I have run into any problems, whether it be trying to figure out how to share a document on posts, or upload a video, I have been able to rely on friends and classmates who have used or are using the PIP website. My grandfather has helped collaborate with my "Ready, Set, Pitch!" portion of my website. By presenting my ideas he was able to provide feedback as someone who has influenced one of the characters in my book. My own E-Commerce teacher has helped in a big way, providing my guidance and ideas on what my next step should be and even providing me with a children's book for inspiration on how simple the illustrations are, along with how the story itself should be written. Finally, and most importantly, I have collaborated with a good friend of mine, Anna, who is helping me with the actual illustrations of my book. I am one of, if not the farthest away from a drawing skillset of Picasso, and was in need of help to make my book presentable. Without her, the book itself would look unappealing and would receive no attention.
